The Chairman of the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, Dele Oshinowo, has secured the 2024 General Certificate Examination forms for 200 students within the LCDA.

Oshinowo explained that this initiative aims to revive waning interest in education among young Nigerians and provide relief to struggling parents amidst the current economic difficulties.

Speaking on his behalf at the council secretariat on Wednesday, Deputy Chairman Folake Kayode emphasized the crucial role of education in nation-building. As the council’s supervisor for education, Kayode expressed pride in the administration’s commitment to improving opportunities for underprivileged residents by offering free GCE forms.

“Education is the foundation of development, and we understand the financial challenges many of our people face.
This initiative is designed to ease that burden and empower our youth to achieve their full potential,” she stated.

Oshinowo added that this gesture aims to increase educational access and boost both the academic performance and confidence of students within the LCDA.
He urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity and serve as positive ambassadors for the council.

He also appealed to parents to provide moral and spiritual support to their children, ensuring they become a source of pride for both the community and the nation.

The council’s Special Adviser on Education and Students Affairs, Mrs. Edunoluwa Olufade, highlighted that the distribution of the forms was fair, with the chairman focused solely on positively impacting students’ lives.
