Karimot, the sister-in-law of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has accused her step-sister, Wunmi, who is also Mohbad’s wife, of allegedly stealing her husband’s phone.
In a series of live Instagram videos, Karimot claimed that Wunmi took one of Mohbad’s phones from his mother and refused to return it. She also stated that the phone was meant to be among those collected by the police as evidence in the ongoing investigation into the singer’s controversial death.
Karimot said, “There is a lot of evidence. The way you took the phone from Mohbad’s mother’s house, I have all the evidence. And I repeat, if Wunmi did not steal Mohbad’s phone, let the blood we share be the judge between us.”
She further explained that the police had requested all of Mohbad’s phones, thinking they had collected them all, unaware that one was missing. Karimot mentioned that she was present when the police collected the phones at Panti.
“You don’t know what I know,” she added. “You can’t bring me down, and I won’t stay silent as long as I’m doing the right thing.”
Karimot also revealed that she had reconciled with Mohbad’s father after initially siding with Wunmi and her mother. “You all were happy when I lied to Mohbad’s father, but now that I’ve asked for his forgiveness, you’re all against me,” she said.
She also accused Wunmi of having a secret account in her mother’s name to collect money and claimed that Wunmi’s mother had advised her to remarry just a year after Mohbad’s death.
In another video, Karimot alleged that Wunmi and the late singer had a fight that damaged the railing in his house shortly before his death. She added, “Ask Wunmi what happened to the railings in Mohbad’s house. They didn’t just break on their own. It was the fight they had that night, which led him to call a nurse. Wunmi is a prostitute, sleeping around with men in Lekki.”
