The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPCL) has refuted rumors about selling employment slots to Nigerians or anyone else interested in purchasing them.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja and signed by Chief Corporate Communications Officer Olufemi Soneye, the company dismissed these rumors as schemes by fraudsters aiming to exploit unsuspecting job seekers.

NNPCL urged the public, particularly job seekers, to ignore these claims and warned against paying money to anyone for a job with the company.

The statement clarified, “NNPCL advises the public, especially job seekers, to disregard rumors about employment slots for sale. There is no truth to these allegations, which are merely tactics used by fraudsters to deceive potential applicants.

“As a responsible corporate entity, NNPCL emphasizes that recruitment is conducted through a straightforward process that does not involve selling slots or any form of bribery.

“We caution that anyone who pays money to secure a job with the company does so at their own risk.”
