On Wednesday, Nigerian-born UFC star Israel Adesanya arrived in Lagos to a warm welcome following his Saturday loss to Dricus Du Plessis.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) announced this on X.com, also noting that Adesanya was accompanied by his parents and greeted by NiDCOM staff at the airport.
Sharing videos of Adesanya’s arrival, NiDCOM wrote, “Earlier today, Nigerian-born, New Zealand professional kickboxer Israel Mobolaji Temitayo Odunayo Oluwafemi Owolabi Adesanya (#stylebender) arrived in Lagos, accompanied by his parents and warmly received by the NiDCOM staff.”
As a reminder, Adesanya was defeated by South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis in the fourth round via submission during their middleweight title fight at UFC 305 in Perth on Saturday night.
