Two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was seen enjoying the Lagos nightlife, hitting a popular club on Lagos Island last Friday night.

The mixed martial arts star shared moments from his night out on Instagram stories, attracting attention from both fans and celebrities.

Adesanya’s club visit followed a busy week, during which he returned to his hometown of Esa-Oke in Osun State, where he was warmly celebrated by the community and the traditional ruler, the Owa-Omiran of Esa-Oke, Oba Adeyemi Adediran.

The Nigerian-born athlete arrived in Lagos on Wednesday and received a hero’s welcome, despite his recent UFC 305 loss to South African fighter Dricus Du Plessis.

Since returning to Nigeria, Adesanya has made multiple trips, including visits to Oyo, Ibadan, and Esa-Oke, where he was honoured by traditional leaders and local residents.

During his time in Osun State, Adesanya was commended for his achievements and his role in putting Nigeria on the global stage.

On Thursday, the Owa-Omiran welcomed Adesanya to his palace and announced that the fighter would be honoured during the annual Esa-Oke Day celebration later this year.

“The Owa-Omiran announced that the Ananye ruling house-born Adesanya will be honoured during the Esa-Oke Day celebration later this year,” Onifade told the News Agency of Nigeria.

Adesanya expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to making Nigeria proud.

“It feels great to be back home and to see the love and support from my people. I’m grateful for the recognition, and I’ll keep pushing to make everyone proud,” Adesanya said.

Despite his busy schedule, Adesanya found time to relax at the Lagos nightclub, reportedly joined by close friends and fans.

His visit to Lagos has been a blend of celebration, homecoming, and reflection, allowing him to reconnect with his roots while taking a break from the demands of the octagon.
