A driver named Afeez Adedigba, who gained attention online for wearing his wife’s dress while driving a popular Micra taxi in Ibadan, Oyo State, has shared the reasons behind his actions.

Adedigba explained that he resorted to wearing his wife’s dress because his clothes were soaked by rain, and the dress was the most convenient option available at the time.

During an interview with media personality Ayo Adams on Monday, Adedigba recounted that when he decided to wear the dress, he informed his wife of his intention to use it in his car, and she agreed.

“This isn’t the only one of my wife’s dresses I have. I actually have two.

The first time I wore one, it was raining heavily, and all my clothes were soaked.

I had no choice but to use hers since I still wanted to keep working that day.

“Now, I wear the dress when it rains and switch back to my own clothes once it stops. That’s why I always keep it in my car,” he said.

When asked about passengers’ reactions to seeing him in the dress, Adedigba said their comments didn’t bother him, as his primary focus was on making enough money to support his family and pay the vehicle owner.

“I’ve been driving this Micra for quite some time. My only concern is to seek God’s favor in my work.

I turned to driving after I couldn’t raise the funds to start selling tires, a trade I learned when I was younger,” he added.

Adedigba also dismissed rumors that he had been involved in a fight, resulting in his clothes being torn, which led him to wear his wife’s dresses.

He further mentioned that he has only one wife and four children, and his hard work is driven by his desire to provide for their needs.
