Lagos returns 25% discount on food items at Sunday market

In line with the Lagos State Government’s Eko Care initiative, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has mandated a 25% discount on food items at the statewide Sunday market, ‘Ounje Eko’.

This announcement was made in a statement posted on X.com by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, on Wednesday.

The statement reads, “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has instructed that the Sunday market, Ounjè Eko, should return this Sunday with a 25% reduction in prices.

Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Abisola Olusanya, informs the media that everything is in place. Lagosians, are you ready?”

The statement was accompanied by a video of the Commissioner speaking to journalists.

The Commissioner also clarified that the 25% discount on food prices would be calculated based on current market rates.
