Tensions are escalating in the ongoing Edo State Governorship election as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) acknowledges receiving a second complaint about discrepancies in polling unit results.

In a statement shared on its official X account late Saturday night, INEC assured the public it would take swift action, promising to investigate claims of incorrect figures being recorded on result sheets.

With the #EdoDecides2024 race heating up, all eyes are on the Commission to uphold transparency and ensure the election’s integrity.

INEC’s post stated, “The Commission has been alerted to an allegation of incorrect figures entered into polling unit result sheets in the ongoing Edo State Governorship election.

This is the second complaint we’ve received among the 4,519 polling units used for the election. The Commission will promptly investigate the issue and address any verified infraction.”

Earlier, NEWS REVIEW reported that INEC has uploaded 90.33% of the results from the Edo governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, with results from 4,082 of the 4,519 polling units successfully transmitted.
