The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the collation of results from Saturday’s Edo State governorship election will begin at 10 a.m. today.
This information was shared early Sunday by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Edo State, Dr. Anugbum Omuoha, in a statement.
The REC assured the public that the process would be carried out transparently and in accordance with the commission’s guidelines.
“We wish to inform the general public, stakeholders, and observers that the collation of results for the ongoing Edo State governorship election will resume today, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10 a.m.,” the statement said. Dr. Omuoha reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to adhering to the established procedures and expressed gratitude for the patience and cooperation of all parties involved.
“We thank all parties for their patience and cooperation as we work towards ensuring a credible and accurate outcome for this significant election,” he said.
The REC also called on all stakeholders to remain calm and orderly, emphasizing INEC’s commitment to delivering a free, fair, and transparent election in Edo State.
