Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has refuted allegations of bribery made against him by social media influencer Martins Otse, also called VeryDarkMan.
In a viral audio clip shared by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky allegedly claimed that some unnamed operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accepted N15 million from him to dismiss money laundering charges.
Responding to the audio, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, announced on Tuesday that the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, had launched an immediate investigation.
However, in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning, Bobrisky denied the allegations, stating that he never bribed EFCC officers to drop charges and that he had served his jail term.
The controversial social media figure also labeled the viral audio as fake, asserting that claims about him avoiding prison were false and should be disregarded.
He wrote, “I’ve been made aware of a fake voice recording circulating online, claiming I paid EFCC N15 million and was never in prison… I did not pay any money to the EFCC.
That’s a huge lie. I fully served my term and was released. Ignore any false information.”
