Afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has reignited his ongoing rivalry with fellow artist David Adeleke, also known as Davido, sparking a new wave of exchanges on social media.
This latest episode comes just months after the two clashed on X (formerly Twitter), when Wizkid took shots at both Davido and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy in May.
During that altercation, Wizkid dismissed Don Jazzy as an “influencer” and shared a video of Davido on his knees, asking for new music.
The feud flared up again on Tuesday after Davido teased a snippet of his first single for 2024. Coincidentally, Wizkid was also preparing to release the first track from his highly anticipated “Morayo” album on the same day.
In a twist, Davido’s associate, Kayode Yajaur (aka Black Tycoone), appeared to mock Wizkid by tweeting, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already,” seemingly poking fun at the delay in Wizkid’s album release.
Unbothered, the Grammy award-winning singer fired back on X with a jab at Davido’s camp, writing, “P***y boys dropping mid again,” and adding, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small!” Though he didn’t mention Davido by name, fans quickly interpreted the post as an attack on the ‘Fem’ singer.
One Davido fan defended him, accusing Wizkid of using Davido’s name for attention: “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?” Wizkid responded sharply, “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”
Wizkid went on to criticize Davido’s music, calling his entire discography “trash” and boasting about his own skills. He added, “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys!”

Many speculate that the renewed tension might have stemmed from Davido’s recent performance at Tony Elumelu’s UBA anniversary in the U.S. While Davido was present at the event, performing and taking pictures with the billionaire businessman, Wizkid, a UBA brand ambassador, was notably absent.
The social media exchanges have drawn mixed reactions, with fans and celebrities weighing in on the drama. Some have criticized Wizkid for reigniting the feud, while others eagerly await a response from Davido.
One user, @Rswagger03, speculated that Wizkid’s antics were a promotional strategy for his new album, tweeting, “Just beg us to promote your songs… beefing with elemi9+ won’t help your dead career or better still… ask Tems for help again.”
Another fan, @Amaruskills, suggested that Wizkid was trying to stay relevant, tweeting, “Lol, fame don dey fade, he don start to dey talk small small make dem no forget am.”
