The Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 2 Command in Onikan, Lagos, AIG Fayoade M. Adegoke, mni, psc, has established a six-member panel to investigate an incident recently brought to light by a viral video.
The panel includes DCP Ajao S. Adewale, mnips, Deputy Commissioner of Police overseeing the Zonal Criminal Investigation Department (ZCID); ACP Ogunsakin Gbenga, PhD, Officer in charge of the Zonal Intelligence Department; Mr. Emma Nndozie, Group Crime Editor at Vanguard Newspaper; Comrade Prince Adeoye Adewunmi, a Human Rights Activist; Ivy Kanu from TVC News; and Barrister Mrs. Blessing Afe, a lawyer and social worker.
The investigation focuses on allegations made by a woman claiming she was detained at the Maroko Police Station alongside several males and underage individuals.
AIG Fayoade M. Adegoke will formally inaugurate the panel at the M.D. Abubakar Conference Hall, Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024.
This initiative aligns with the current leadership’s commitment to upholding human rights and addressing gender-related issues.
