The West African Senior School Certificate Examination has announced the commencement of the Nigeria Examinations Committee’s 78th meeting, aimed at addressing issues of malpractice and irregularities reported during the 2024 WASSCE for school candidates.

In a statement shared on X on Monday, the West African Examinations Council highlighted the significance of the meeting, urging stakeholders to stay informed.

“The 78th Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) begins today to consider and decide on malpractice/irregularity cases arising from the conduct of WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024,” the statement said.

This crucial meeting is expected to have far-reaching effects on students and the broader educational system in Nigeria. WAEC has encouraged affected candidates and the public to follow updates on the outcomes.

Earlier reports indicate that the 2024 WASSCE results were released two months ago, with a message reading: “The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform candidates who sat WASSCE for school candidates, 2024, that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 12, 2024.”

However, NEWS REVIEW reported that WAEC withheld the results of 215,267 candidates from the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
