The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has announced that the Federal Government has approved the construction of an airstrip for Faith Tabernacle at Canaanland.

Oyedepo made this announcement during the Tehillah Night Special Edition at Covenant University Chapel in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, on Sunday.

He explained that the new airstrip will allow him to travel directly from the church premises, removing the need to first travel to the airport.

“I’m sure you’ll be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland,” Oyedepo said. “I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I’m going. Members with their planes will also have a place to land and park.”

The airstrip is expected to enhance transportation for worshippers and visitors, especially during large gatherings like the church’s events, which attract thousands from around the world. Oyedepo also urged his congregation to discover their purpose in God’s plan, mentioning that some Covenant University graduates now serve as his pilots.

“You’ll be happy to know that some of the captains who fly me are graduates of Covenant University,” he said. “We don’t have an aviation department, but they found their calling and pursued it. That’s what this university is about—helping you locate God’s plan and follow it. Young people, don’t waste your life; you don’t have a spare.”

The Tehillah Night special edition was a thanksgiving service held in honor of Bishop Oyedepo, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday in September.
