Manchester United has announced the dismissal of Erik ten Hag as the club’s manager, according to a statement released on Monday.

The club also confirmed that former player Ruud van Nistelrooy will step in as the interim head coach.

“Erik ten Hag has departed from his role as the men’s first-team manager at Manchester United. Appointed in April 2022, Erik guided the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. We appreciate Erik’s contributions during his tenure and wish him all the best for the future.

“Ruud van Nistelrooy will assume the role of interim head coach, supported by the current coaching staff, while the search for a permanent head coach is underway,” the statement read.

Further details will follow.
