Cristiano Ronaldo’s journey from Manchester United to Al Nassr may not be the end of his connection with Old Trafford, suggests former United striker Teddy Sheringham.

In a report by Mirror UK, Sheringham shared his belief that Ronaldo would receive a warm welcome if he ever decided to return—especially if fellow Portuguese Ruben Amorim, rumored to be United’s next manager, takes the reins.

Ronaldo’s 2021 return to United was met with great fanfare but ended on a sour note after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan, leading to his departure. Now thriving in Saudi Arabia as the Pro League’s top scorer, Ronaldo seems focused on new goals beyond football.

Sheringham, however, sees Amorim’s arrival as a potential bridge for Ronaldo’s return, even if only in a symbolic role. “Cristiano would be very welcome back at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim,” he told FlashScore. “But he’s likely to follow David Beckham’s path, focusing on global ventures rather than coaching.”

At 39, Ronaldo is looking forward to a life beyond the pitch, with aspirations in business rather than coaching. He’s been open about his lack of interest in guiding younger players, stating on his YouTube channel that he finds the digital generation unresponsive to advice.

With business ventures ahead, Ronaldo is eager to embrace his next chapter. “I have new goals after my career ends,” he said. “This will be a challenge, but I’m excited to dive into areas outside football.”
