Bauchi State was thrown into mourning yesterday as news broke of the gruesome rape and murder of a two-year-old girl.
The tragic incident occurred in Ningi Local Government Area, where the lifeless body of the child was discovered near a mosque.
According to the state police command, the victim suffered severe internal injuries consistent with sexual assault.
Authorities are currently investigating the crime and have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator(s).
