Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Tuesday, unveiled his five-point agenda focused on transforming the state following his swearing-in as the 6th civilian governor.

In his inaugural address, Governor Okpebholo highlighted his commitment to prioritizing security, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and food sufficiency. He vowed to tackle crime head-on, promising an end to the era of rampant kidnappings and violence.

“The safety and well-being of our citizens are our top priority,” Okpebholo declared, as he emphasized a strong push for economic growth and improved living conditions.

The governor also pledged to enhance road infrastructure, partnering with federal agencies, the private sector, and other stakeholders to ease transportation and drive development. He assured that efforts to empower small businesses and youth through skills training and soft loans would be a central focus.

Education was another priority, with plans to recruit teachers and refurbish classrooms. Okpebholo also revealed plans to address power shortages in underserved communities and support the preservation of Edo’s cultural heritage.

“My administration is committed to strengthening democracy and good governance, ensuring Edo’s progress and prosperity,” he concluded.
