Ibrahim, a Zoology graduate from Bauchi State University, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook on November 21, 2024, just days before their planned wedding on November 29. He explained that they had been in a relationship for three years but had never considered genotype testing until recent tests confirmed their genetic compatibility issues.
The couple had initially assumed there would be no complications, but after the devastating results from two separate hospitals, they chose to part ways to avoid potential health risks for their future children. Despite encouragement from family members to proceed with the wedding, Ibrahim and Fatima decided to prioritize the health of any potential offspring.
Ibrahim’s Facebook post expressed his sorrow, stating, “It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I regretfully announce the cancellation of my upcoming wedding.” He thanked their supporters for their understanding and prayers, calling the decision a “dark hour.”
