Tinubu Appoints Nwakuche Ndidi as Acting Correctional Service Boss

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as the Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, effective December 15, 2024.

Ndidi’s appointment comes after the tenure of Haliru Nababa, who has served in the role since February 18, 2021, under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Board, confirmed the appointment in a statement on Friday, highlighting Ndidi’s extensive experience and qualifications.

Born on November 26, 1966, in Oguta, Imo State, Ndidi was the Deputy Controller-General overseeing Training and Staff Development. A distinguished fellow of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, he also holds the national honor of Member of the Federal Republic.

President Tinubu urged Ndidi to leverage his expertise to lead the Nigerian Correctional Service effectively in his new role.
