Body of 45-Year-Old Found in Abeokuta Apartment, Police Suspect Suicide
Abeokuta, Ogun State – Police in Ogun State are investigating the suspicious death of a 45-year-old woman, Tolulope Olusanya, whose swollen body was discovered in her apartment on Monday evening.
The incident occurred on Shittu Street, Madojutimi Abiola Way, Abeokuta, when the deceased’s landlord, Adebesin Adebayo, reported to the Kemta Divisional Police Station that he had not seen her for several days.
Upon arrival at the scene, police officers discovered the apartment locked and a strong, unpleasant odour emanating from within. After breaking into the apartment, they found Ms. Olusanya’s body lying on the bed, significantly swollen, indicating she had been deceased for some time.
Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that efforts to transport the body were hampered by a lack of appropriate medical equipment.
The police are currently investigating the cause of death and are attempting to locate Ms. Olusanya’s next of kin.
This incident follows a similar case in November 2024, where a man named Fatai Hamzat was found dead in his apartment in Abeokuta.
