Oshodi Pedestrian Bridge Closed Over Safety Concerns

Lagos State authorities have ordered the immediate closure of a pedestrian bridge connecting Oshodi Bus Terminals 2 and 3 due to serious safety concerns.

The government expressed deep worry about the bridge’s structural integrity, prompting the closure.

Transportation Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi announced the decision on Friday, stating that the bridge’s condition poses a significant risk.

To ensure public safety, the contractor responsible for the terminal’s construction has been instructed to install concrete barriers at the bridge’s entrances.

This closure will allow for a thorough structural assessment to determine if repairs or complete reconstruction are necessary.

Pedestrians are advised to use an alternative bridge located approximately 30 meters away during this period.
