Meta Announces $65B Investment to Lead AI Innovation

In a major push to lead the AI race, tech giant Meta announced plans to invest up to $65 billion this year in bolstering its AI infrastructure and research.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed this ambitious plan in a Facebook post, stating that the company will significantly expand its AI teams and build a massive data center capable of powering groundbreaking advancements.

Meta aims to develop an AI system that can autonomously contribute to its R&D efforts, writing code and assisting in building other AI systems. This year, Zuckerberg expects Meta AI to become the leading assistant for over 1 billion people, with its Llama 4 model becoming the industry benchmark.

This massive investment underscores the escalating AI race among tech giants. Microsoft has pledged $80 billion to AI and cloud infrastructure this fiscal year, while Google is also heavily investing in AI innovations, driven by the surging demand for AI-powered solutions across various sectors.
