Court Adjourns Obanikoro Jr.’s Fraud Case, Orders Arraignment in February 2025
The Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the arraignment of Gbolahan Obanikoro, son of former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, and four others on alleged N1.356 billion fraud.
The court granted an adjournment on Friday after defense counsel argued that some defendants, including companies, had received service of the charges too late.
Obanikoro and his co-defendants, including Adejare Adegbenro and three companies, are facing charges of conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretenses, and fraud.
The prosecution alleges that the defendants defrauded Access Bank by falsely claiming to be involved in car importation from Dubai.
The court has ordered the prosecution to ensure proper service on all defendants and set February 27, 2025, as the new arraignment date.
