Lagos Man, 38, and Associate Arrested for Repeatedly Raping 14-Year-Old Stepdaughter, Now Nine Months Pregnant; Separate Case Sees Carpenter Remanded for Alleged Rape of Nine-Year-Old Girl
LAGOS – Samuel Alfred, 38, has been arrested alongside his associate, Ikechukwu Obi, 30, for the alleged rape of his 14-year-old stepdaughter in Okokomaiko, Lagos. The arrests followed the discovery that the victim was nine months pregnant.
Police sources confirm that the victim’s mother, Deborah, reported the crime, leading to the apprehension of both suspects. Investigations revealed the pair had repeatedly sexually assaulted the teenager. The case has been transferred to the Gender Unit in Ikeja.
Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, verified the arrests and confirmed an ongoing investigation. He stated the case will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
In a separate incident, a carpenter has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Facility for the alleged rape of a nine-year-old girl in Ipaja. The arrest followed social media advocacy by comedienne “Princess,” which prompted the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) to intervene and collaborate with the police. The DSVA confirmed the suspect’s arrest and the victim’s rescue.
