Brake Failure Triggers Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Sagamu-Ikorodu Expressway, Leaving Two Dead and Several Injured as Emergency Responders Work to Clear Heavy Traffic
Two unidentified individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident on Saturday night along the Sagamu-Ikorodu Expressway, leaving several others injured.
The incident occurred when a DAF truck experienced a brake failure, colliding with two cars, a Solara jeep and a Toyota Camry, from behind. The force of the crash caused the cars to crash under a moving Mack truck ahead.
Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency Commandant General, Seni Ogunyemi, confirmed that the victims were transported to the General Hospital morgue in Ikorodu, while the injured were taken to the Health Centre in Ogijo.
The accident caused significant traffic disruptions, with emergency responders, including TRACE operatives and the police, working to clear the scene. Tow services have also been deployed to assist with the removal of the damaged vehicles.
