Ondo Governor Approves Recruitment of 1,000 Secondary School Teachers, Finalizes Primary School Hiring, and Invests in Education Reforms
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the employment of 1,000 secondary school teachers, with the recruitment process finalized by the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM). Additionally, the hiring of 1,000 primary school teachers is in its final stages.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the recruitment drive follows last year’s screening of thousands of applicants. Successful candidates will commence documentation immediately.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, concerned about teacher shortages, directed that recruitment focus on understaffed schools, especially in rural areas.
Further strengthening the education sector, he recently approved ₦633 million for WAEC registration fees for students and the upgrade of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic to the University of Agriculture and Agribusiness, Owo.
