Edo State, Nigeria – In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Governor Monday Okpebholo has announced the approval of N1 billion in soft loans specifically for market women within the state. The governor made the announcement during an event celebrating the day, emphasizing the crucial role of women in Edo’s development.

Governor Okpebholo highlighted the swift approval of the loans, stating, “We can actually do nothing as men without women, and that was why when a memo came before me on soft loan approval, I quickly approved N1 billion for our market women.” He confirmed that the funds are ready and the disbursement process, in collaboration with a financial institution, is underway, ensuring the loans reach Edo women exclusively.
