Manchester United’s Financial Crisis Unveiled: Ratcliffe Warns of Cash Struggles as Europa League Becomes Their Last Hope for Champions League Return and Stability

Manchester United’s financial crisis, revealed by co-owner Jim Ratcliffe, has intensified pressure on Ruben Amorim’s squad to secure Europa League glory and a return to Champions League revenues next season.

The Red Devils host Real Sociedad on Thursday with their last-16 tie delicately balanced after a 1-1 draw in Spain. Sitting 14th in the Premier League, United’s season hinges on European success.

Ratcliffe, who announced plans for a new 100,000-seater stadium, defended widespread cost-cutting measures, warning the club could have “run out of money by Christmas.” United have suffered £410 million in losses over seven years and face missing out on European football unless they win the Europa League final in Bilbao on May 21.

Elsewhere, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is under pressure to overturn a 1-0 deficit against AZ Alkmaar, while Rangers and Athletic Bilbao fight to keep their European dreams alive.
