NAF Airstrikes Decimate Bandit Hideouts in Katsina, Neutralize Over 20 Criminals
KATSINA STATE – Nigerian Air Force airstrikes have decimated key bandit hideouts in Katsina State, neutralizing over 20 criminals and targeting notorious kingpins. The operation, conducted by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma in the early hours of March 13, 2025, focused on Unguwar Goga Hillforest, Ruwan Godiya Ward, Faskari Local Government Area.
According to a statement released by Group Captain Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, the precision strikes targeted the fortified camps of bandit leaders Gero (Alhaji) and Alhaji Riga. Intelligence-driven operations resulted in the destruction of these camps and the neutralization of over 20 bandits, with further casualties reported in the surrounding terrain.
The Air Force emphasized the strategic importance of eliminating Riga and Gero, who were identified as key facilitators of banditry in the region, providing shelter and support for elements responsible for attacks along the Funtua-Gusau Road. The ongoing assessment aims to determine the full extent of the damage inflicted. Authorities consider this a significant advancement in efforts to restore stability to the North-West region.
