Asake’s Father Confirms Reconciliation, Says Singer Has Agreed to Buy Him a House, Cover Medical Bills, and Take Care of His Alleged Daughter Amid Ongoing Family Drama
Fatai Odunsi, father of Nigerian music star Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has confirmed that his son has agreed to buy him a house, settle his medical bills, and take care of his daughter.
Odunsi, also known as Malo, has been battling health challenges after suffering a stroke, which left parts of his body paralyzed. Unable to afford his medical bills, he publicly called out Asake in a viral video last Thursday, pleading with Nigerians to urge the singer to assist him.
The controversy took another turn as Asake’s alleged baby mama, identified as Adijat, also accused the singer of neglecting both her and their daughter, Zeenat.
However, in an interview with digital creator Aki Abolade, popularly known as Mrlilgaga, on Sunday, Odunsi expressed happiness and gratitude, stating that Asake had now reached out and agreed to take care of all the concerns raised. Speaking in Yoruba, he showered prayers on his son and expressed pride in him.
“He (Asake) has instructed that they find a house for me, and they have been searching since yesterday (Saturday). He has already started taking action,” Odunsi revealed in Yoruba in a video posted by @Mrlilgaga on Instagram. When asked if he was proud of Asake, he responded, “I’m proud of him. He will not be unfortunate; nothing bad will happen to him, and he will continue to rise.”
Addressing why he initially called out his son, Odunsi explained, “I was upset because I hadn’t seen him for a long time. His mother should have asked him, ‘When was the last time you saw your father?’ That was what made me angry, but we have resolved everything now. There is no fight anymore,” he said, using Yoruba proverbs to emphasize their reconciliation.
He further confirmed that Asake had agreed to take responsibility for his daughter. “He (Asake) has said he will take care of her,” Odunsi stated. When asked if the singer had accepted Zeenat as his child, he responded, “Yes, he has never denied his child. He has accepted her from the beginning and will take care of her.”

Asake faced heavy criticism over the weekend after the viral video of his father’s plea surfaced online, with netizens and residents of Isale Eko expressing disappointment in the singer for allegedly neglecting his ailing father.
In response, Asake took to TikTok with a cryptic yet emotional message, singing in Yoruba:
“You can’t please everyone, you can’t please the world. But whatever you do, do it for God. My own father wants to cajole me. I have sent him so much money, but they want to make life unbearable for me.”
Meanwhile, Asake’s family also addressed the situation, confirming that he had now taken responsibility for his father but urging him to also acknowledge his daughter. They expressed willingness to conduct a DNA test to confirm Zeenat’s paternity.
A woman featured in the viral video directly appealed to the singer, saying, “I am begging you, Ololade Mr. Money, please do the needful. Even if Nigerians donate N10bn to this man, just N1m from Asake would make him happier. Take care of your father. If you don’t want to give him money directly, buy him a house in Isale Eko where he can earn rent to survive.”
The controversy further deepened on Saturday when Adijat, who identified herself as Asake’s baby mama, alleged that the singer abandoned their 11-year-old daughter.
She claimed that before Asake became famous, she financially supported him while he was a student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
“I have an 11-year-old daughter for Asake. Before he became famous, I always supported him. I sent him all my savings while he was in school. Asake used to call me to appreciate my support, but now, when I try to reach out, he says I am forcing myself on him.
“He even threatened to block me on all platforms if I continued to contact him. After he got famous, he only sent N1m to me and his daughter,” Adijat claimed during a live chat on TikTok.
When asked about Asake’s plans for the child during the Sunday interview, Odunsi reaffirmed that the singer had now agreed to care for her. “He (Asake) has said he will take care of her,” he said.
