Manchester United to Raise Ticket Prices by 5% Next Season as Club Pushes £2 Billion Stadium Project and Cost-Cutting Measures
Manchester United has announced a ticket price increase for next season, just days after unveiling plans for a new £2 billion ($2.6 billion) stadium.
Season ticket prices will rise by approximately 5%, though tickets for fans under 16 will remain unchanged. However, some senior ticket concessions have been removed. Additionally, select seats near the Old Trafford benches will be converted into hospitality tickets to boost revenue.
Last week, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe warned that without his investment and cost-cutting measures—including 450 staff redundancies—the club would have run out of money by Christmas. The next day, he confirmed plans for the stadium project.
CEO Omar Berrada defended the price hike, citing the club’s need to manage rising costs while maintaining financial stability.
“After 11 years of price freezes, we increased prices by 5% for the past two seasons and intend to do the same next season to offset rising operating costs,” Berrada stated.
In January, the Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) urged Ratcliffe to freeze ticket prices, following backlash over mid-season increases. While acknowledging fan concerns, Berrada emphasized that the increase was necessary given ongoing financial challenges.
