Mohbad’s Brother, Adura, and Friend Arrested After Court Hearing Amid Allegations of Extortion, Phone Dispute, and Family Feud
LAGOS – Adura Aloba, the younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Nigeria Police at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos. His friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, aka King White, was also taken into custody.
The arrest followed a legal proceeding concerning a phone Adura sold to one Damola Ayinde. Reports indicate that Adura had been embroiled in a controversy involving actor Yomi Fabiyi, who accused him of attempting to extort ₦3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for alleged video evidence of Mohbad’s death. Adura denied the allegations, stating that the messages came from Ayinde, who had possession of the phone.
Reacting to the arrest, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, broke down in tears in a viral video, accusing Fabiyi and another individual, Sam Jojo, of orchestrating her son’s abduction. In Yoruba, she pleaded for help, saying Adura was sick and must not be harmed.
A forensic investigation had previously been conducted, while the court continues to probe the case. A family source revealed that Koleosho’s arrest might have stemmed from a heated exchange with Fabiyi. The source confirmed that they were trying to locate Adura’s whereabouts.
A police source disclosed to NEWS REVIEW that the arrests were carried out by operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan. Efforts to reach the zonal police spokesperson, Ayuba Umma, for further details were unsuccessful as of the time of this report.
