Juventus Prepare Player-Plus-Cash Offer for Osimhen, Hoping to Leverage Gatti’s Appeal to Convince Napoli Amid Summer Squad Overhaul

Juventus are gearing up to launch a player-plus-cash offer for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they look to reinforce their attack this summer.

The Bianconeri have earmarked Osimhen as a key signing and plan to include defender Federico Gatti in the deal to tempt Napoli into negotiations, according to Tuttosport. However, Napoli remain hesitant to sell their star forward to a direct rival.

Osimhen was instrumental in Napoli’s 2023 Scudetto-winning campaign, netting 26 goals to become the first African to claim the Serie A top scorer award. Juventus hope to leverage Napoli boss Antonio Conte’s admiration for Gatti to facilitate the transfer.

This pursuit coincides with Juventus’ plans to offload Dusan Vlahovic and extend Randal Kolo Muani’s loan from PSG.

Meanwhile, Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in red-hot form, scoring 20 goals in 22 league matches. The 26-year-old also made history with Nigeria, surpassing Segun Odegbami’s 44-year-old goal record by netting his 25th international goal in a World Cup qualifier.

Former Nigeria forward Odegbami welcomed the milestone, saying, “Osimhen has finally overtaken me, and I am very happy for him. He is still young and has a long way to go.”

Osimhen now trails only the legendary Rashidi Yekini, Nigeria’s all-time top scorer with 37 goals.
