Edo PDP Chieftains Given Five-Day Ultimatum to Apologize Over Bribery Allegations Against Governor Okpebholo or Face Legal Action
Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has given a five-day ultimatum to Chris Nehikhare, the state’s PDP Publicity Secretary, and party chieftain Shedrach Udugbai, demanding an unreserved apology over alleged defamatory remarks.

Nehikhare, in a March 10 press release, accused the governor of offering N200 million bribes to Assembly members to defect to the APC, while Udugbai repeated similar claims on a March 13 ITV program. The governor’s legal team, in a pre-action notice, condemned the allegations as false, damaging, and an attack on his integrity.
The notice emphasized that Governor Okpebholo has never engaged in financial impropriety and insisted that the statements were a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation. The accused individuals must retract their claims and apologize within five days or face legal action.
