FIFA Announces $1 Billion Prize Pool for Expanded Club World Cup, Winning Team to Earn Up to $125 Million

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced on Wednesday that the winner of this year’s expanded Club World Cup in the United States could earn up to $125 million in prize money.

The tournament, scheduled from June 14 to July 13, will have a total prize pool of $1 billion. FIFA has detailed the allocation, with $525 million set aside for participation and $475 million distributed based on performance.

Each of the 32 participating teams will receive a share, with European clubs earning between $12.81 million and $38.19 million depending on sporting and commercial factors. South American teams will each get $15.21 million, while teams from North and Central America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa will receive $9.55 million. Auckland City, the sole Oceania representative, will be awarded $3.58 million.

Infantino highlighted that this marks the largest prize fund ever for a tournament with a group stage and knockout phase. He also revealed an additional $250 million solidarity program to support global football development, with all tournament revenue dedicated to club football.
