Taraba Police Spokesman Abdulahi Usman Passes Away After Prolonged Illness, Force Public Relations Department Mourns a Dedicated Officer and Bridge Between Police and Public
JALINGO, TARABA STATE – Superintendent of Police Abdulahi Usman, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Taraba State Command, has died following a prolonged illness. The Force Public Relations Department confirmed his passing in a statement issued Wednesday.
Usman, who served as the command’s spokesperson for three years, died in the early hours of Sunday, March 23, 2025.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, expressed deep sorrow, emphasizing Usman’s role as a vital link between the police and the public. “For three years, he dedicated himself to fostering trust, ensuring transparency, and building a relationship of mutual respect between the police and the public in Taraba State,” Adejobi stated. He highlighted Usman’s “warm personality, professionalism, and relentless pursuit of justice.”
Adejobi described Usman’s death as a “profound loss” to the Force Public Relations Department, the Taraba State Command, and all who knew him. “His colleagues remember him as a man of honor, duty, and compassion—a true public servant whose impact will be felt for years to come,” he added.
Condolences were extended to the officers and men of the Taraba State Police Command, as well as Usman’s family and loved ones. The statement confirmed the Force Public Relations Department’s solidarity with those affected and offered prayers for his soul’s peaceful repose.
