Delta Hotel Manager, Three Others Arrested as Police Uncover Lodger’s Murder, Ritual Suspicions, and Stolen PoS Machine

Police operatives have arrested the manager of Century Home Hotel in Owheologbo, Isoko North LGA of Delta State, along with three others, following the mysterious death of a lodger, Mr. Sunday Ogofotha. The hotel owner and his wife, initially invited for questioning, were later released after being found innocent. The hotel has since been sealed by the Isoko North Local Council.

Community sources allege the arrests are linked to suspected kidnappings and ritual activities, particularly concerning the disappearance of Mr. Ogofotha, who had traveled from Lagos for a funeral. Preliminary police investigations reportedly uncovered incriminating evidence, leading to the suspects’ detention. Additionally, a PoS machine and valuables belonging to a previously murdered PoS operator were recovered from the hotel.

The Isoko North LGA Chairman, Godwin Ogorugba, who visited the crime scene, expressed outrage and ordered the hotel’s immediate closure. A source claims that Mr. Ogofotha was found dead in a locked room after family members and vigilantes forced their way in, discovering his bound and mutilated body.

Delta State Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident but clarified that the hotel owner and his wife were not involved. He assured the public that investigations are ongoing to ensure justice is served. Meanwhile, Mr. Ogofotha’s remains have been taken to an undisclosed morgue in Ozoro.
