Bobrisky Loses $990 to Romance Scam After Months-Long Online Relationship with Alleged U.S.-Based Lover Who Disappeared After Receiving Ad Payment via CashApp
Popular Nigerian crossdresser and socialite, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, has revealed that he was recently swindled out of $990 in an online romance scam.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Bobrisky shared his shock and disappointment over the incident, admitting he never imagined he could fall for such a scheme.

He explained that the scammer had been in touch with him for several months, initially claiming to reside in the United States before allegedly moving to Canada. During this time, the individual maintained consistent communication, frequently calling and expressing interest in Bobrisky’s life.
“I never thought in my life I would be a client to anybody,” Bobrisky wrote. “This guy came to my DM, and we got talking close to a few months now. He calls me almost every day. He said he lived in the USA but moved to Canada.”

The deception peaked when a client from the U.S. contacted Bobrisky for an advertisement deal, requesting to pay a deposit via CashApp. Bobrisky turned to the scammer for assistance, and he agreed to receive the payment on his behalf. However, once the money was sent, the scammer vanished.
“Few weeks later, someone in the USA reached out for ads. She said she needed a Cash App to pay her deposit, and I asked this guy talking to me. He said he would give me his own. As soon as he got the money, he blocked me immediately,” Bobrisky added.
The socialite went on to share screenshots of their conversations and a photo of the alleged scammer, warning his followers to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to similar frauds.
