Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have made significant arrests in separate operations targeting illicit drug activities across Nigeria.

On April 3, 2025, two brothers, John Abugu (43) and Kenneth Abugu (31), were apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while attempting to board a flight to India. The suspects were caught with five kilograms of cocaine concealed in their suitcases. Although they claimed to be traveling for medical treatment, their plans were thwarted due to credible intelligence, leading to the discovery of the drugs.
