Portable Backs Out of Celebrity Boxing Match with Speed Darlington, Demands ₦100 Million Face-Off with Anthony Joshua Instead
Nigerian street-hop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has withdrawn from his much-publicized celebrity boxing match with fellow artiste Darlington Achakpo Okoye, a.k.a. Speed Darlington.
The controversial singer made the announcement in a video posted to his Instagram page, where he dismissed Speed Darlington as an unworthy opponent and instead challenged former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua.
“I’m not fighting Speed Darlington again; I want Anthony Joshua with 100 million,” Portable declared in the now-viral clip.

He also claimed Speed Darlington was only using the planned bout to promote his upcoming show set for April. Boasting of his influence, Portable insisted he is far more relevant in the music scene than his would-be opponent, who was released from Kuje Prison in January after being detained for allegedly defaming Afrobeat star Burna Boy.
This unexpected twist comes just days after Speed Darlington began training for the highly anticipated match. In a widely circulated video, he was seen purchasing a coffin a move many interpreted as mockery before heading to the gym for practice with his trainer.

Speed Darlington had been actively preparing for the bout, seen throwing punches and building stamina ahead of the now-cancelled face-off.
The celebrity boxing match was originally scheduled for April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center in Lagos State. However, Portable’s sudden withdrawal has thrown the event into uncertainty, effectively putting the fight on hold at least for now.
