Olubadan Installs Nine Mogajis, Two Baales in Ibadan, Warns Against Land Grabbing, Insubordination, and Urges Peace in Communities

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has issued a stern warning to compound heads (Mogajis) and village heads (Baales) to steer clear of land grabbing and insubordination to family elders.

The monarch gave the warning on Monday during the installation ceremony of nine Mogajis and two Baales held at his palace in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Gbenga Ayoade, the Olubadan emphasized the importance of peace, noting that no meaningful development can take place in any community without it.

Represented by the Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief (Senator) Sharafadeen Alli, the Olubadan congratulated the newly installed title holders and reminded them of their responsibility as the king’s representatives.

“You are the accredited representatives of the Olubadan of Ibadanland. Therefore, you must ensure peace reigns in your domains,” he said. “Desist from any act that can tarnish the image of the traditional institution, such as land grabbing, insubordination to elders, and oppression of family members.”
