Social media erupted on Thursday after Nigerian music stars Don Jazzy and Shallipopi stunned fans with spontaneous million-naira giveaways, turning viral online interactions into life-changing moments.
It all began with a trending post on X.com encouraging users to tag celebrities who might gift them ₦1 million. Adeyemi Adejoke Abidemi, tweeting as #PopoolaJoke4, tagged Don Jazzy, saying, “Make I tag #DONJAZZY. I dey always dream about him. Happy new month sir.”
Don Jazzy responded with “Akant namba,” prompting her to drop her GTBank details. Minutes later, she posted a screenshot of a ₦1 million credit alert, overwhelmed with gratitude. But the surprise grew even bigger—moved by her previous account balance of just ₦67.29, Don Jazzy sent an additional ₦5 million.
“Amen ooo. That your akant balance is not healthy. I don add another 5 million,” he replied.
Sharing her new ₦6 million balance, Adeyemi expressed deep appreciation: “May the Almighty who used you to lift me reward you beyond measure.”
In the same viral wave, Shallipopi also gifted ₦1 million each to two fans while promoting his music. One fan, Samuel Uchechukwu Ifesinachi, joked about being too broke to afford a speaker. Shallipopi replied, “Imma send u a million if you promise to get yourself a very big JBL,” and later shared the transaction receipt.
Another fan, Anirah Gabriel, referenced a March conversation where Shallipopi had asked, “How much you fit chop?” Gabriel replied, “Shock me papi.” The singer sent ₦1 million after a brief playful exchange and posted proof of the transfer.
The unexpected acts of generosity have left fans and followers buzzing, praising both artists for spreading joy and hope online.
