Air Peace Responds to NCAA’s Call for Improved Operations, Emphasizes Safety as Top Priority and Denies Fleet Shortages
Nigerian airline, Air Peace, has responded to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) urging improvements in its domestic flight services, following claims of frequent delays and cancellations. In a statement, Air Peace acknowledged the NCAA’s role in ensuring aviation safety but stressed the need to address inaccuracies regarding its operational capacity and safety practices.
The airline emphasized that safety is its top priority, noting that delays and cancellations are often due to safety concerns, such as weather conditions, technical issues, or operational standards falling short. “If weather conditions, technical parameters, or operational standards fall short of what is safe, we will not operate that flight,” Air Peace confirmed.
Air Peace also denied claims of a fleet shortage, asserting that it has more aircraft than are used daily for flights. The airline clarified that delays and cancellations are unrelated to fleet size.
Citing an incident earlier today involving a bird strike during landing in Enugu, which caused engine damage and grounded the aircraft, Air Peace pointed out that such disruptions are unpredictable and often lead to ripple effects on other flights. “It is not our policy to delay or cancel flights without due cause,” the statement read, noting that the airline absorbs significant financial losses when disruptions occur.
Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to safety and professionalism, stating it will never compromise passenger safety for convenience, comfort, or profit.
