Cristiano Ronaldo has stirred fresh speculation about his future with Saudi club Al Nassr after posting a cryptic message on X late Monday night, saying:
“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
The message comes just as his contract nears its expiration this summer, prompting widespread debate over a possible exit.
The timing of the post coincided with Al Nassr’s crushing 3-2 loss to Al Fateh on Monday, May 26, 2025 a result that shattered their hopes of qualifying for the AFC Champions League.
Ronaldo scored his 25th goal of the season in that match, pushing his tally to 99 goals for the club, but his efforts weren’t enough to secure a win. Al Nassr briefly held the lead, but their defense collapsed, allowing Al Fateh to seal the comeback.
Al Hilal’s win over Al Qadsiah further dashed Al Nassr’s hopes, officially knocking them out of Champions League contention. Their last chance at continental football now rests on Al Ittihad winning the King Cup, which would open a path to the secondary AFC competition.
