The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday upheld the election of Governor Monday Okpebholo as the duly elected winner of the September 21, 2024, Edo State governorship poll conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The decision was delivered by Justice Mohammed Danjuma in a judgment on the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

In a unanimous ruling, the three-member panel dismissed the appeal, declaring it lacked merit. Justice Danjuma stated that the appellants failed to prove any miscarriage of justice in the earlier judgment of the Edo State Election Petition Tribunal, which had thrown out their petition.
