The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on behalf of the government.
Tunji-Ojo congratulated all Muslims in Nigeria and the Diaspora, urging them to uphold the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and national prosperity.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to people-centered reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at putting Nigeria back on the path of progress.
He concluded by wishing the Muslim faithful a joyful Eid celebration and encouraged all citizens to support efforts to restore Nigeria’s greatness.
