Thierry Henry has officially stepped down as head coach of the France Under-21 national team.

The French Football Federation announced his resignation on Monday, citing “personal reasons” for his decision.

Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news, stating that Henry had “chosen to terminate his contract” with the team, further noting that the reasons for his departure were described as “personal.”

Henry, a legendary former forward for Arsenal and Barcelona, took charge of the France U21 squad in 2023.

His unexpected exit brings an end to his brief tenure, during which he led the team to the 2024 Olympics finals, where they finished as runners-up to Spain and earned a silver medal.
