In line with its commitment to giving back to Nigerian society and fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Dufil Prima Foods Ltd, the producers of Indomie Instant Noodles, donated medical equipment and supplies to the Rauf Aregbesola Primary Health Centre in Alimosho on Friday, August 23.
This donation aligns with Indomie’s broader mission to enhance healthcare services and improve community well-being across Nigeria.
The donation included a variety of essential medical equipment, such as mattresses, weight scales, incubators, endotracheal tubes, pillows, an infant phototherapy unit, and baby beds, among other items. These supplies are intended to improve the health centre’s capacity to deliver quality care and strengthen the overall health infrastructure in the community.
During the event, Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager at Dufil Prima Foods Ltd, stated that Indomie was fulfilling one of its corporate social responsibility initiatives by donating medical equipment to public health facilities nationwide.
He emphasized that this donation is part of a larger, nationwide effort by the brand.
“We conducted a needs assessment at the health centre to identify its most urgent requirements, which informed the materials we are donating today.
We are pleased to engage with the management and staff of the health facility.
As we’ve mentioned before, we believe that corporate entities like ours must support the government, especially in areas where the government alone may not be able to meet all needs,” Ashiwaju said.
He added that this initiative is ongoing and has already reached several locations, including Port Harcourt, Kaduna, and Kano, showing that the effort is not limited to the southwest but is truly nationwide.
Ashiwaju expressed hope that this contribution will significantly improve the quality of healthcare available at the centre and that the equipment will be put to good use.
Ashiwaju reiterated the brand’s commitment to continuing this initiative across other public health facilities in the country, making targeted donations and interventions tailored to local needs.
He emphasized that this effort reflects the brand’s dedication to the health and well-being of Nigerians, a critical component of the country’s Sustainable Development Goals, aligning with Indomie’s core CSR pillars: health, education, empowerment, and feeding.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Abiola Bolaji, Medical Officer of Health at the Rauf Aregbesola Primary Health Centre, expressed deep gratitude for the donation, noting its potential to significantly enhance the centre’s healthcare delivery. “I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dufil Prima Foods for the donation.
It comes at a crucial time, especially as we have integrated more services into our Primary Health Care.
We hope this new equipment will encourage more patients to seek care here and motivate our medical staff to perform even better,” she said.
In addition to the medical donations, the brand also delighted the health centre’s management, staff, and the community by distributing gifts, including cooked samples of Indomie Instant Noodles and cartons of the product.
