Cristiano Ronaldo has been recognized with a special award in honor of his outstanding legacy as the all-time leading goal scorer in the Champions League.
Additionally, former Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has been awarded the 2024 UEFA President’s Award.
Both legends were celebrated during the UEFA Champions League group stage draw held in Monaco on Thursday evening.
Ronaldo, a figure synonymous with European football excellence, received the prestigious honor from UEFA, reaffirming his position as the UEFA Champions League’s top scorer of all time.
The award was presented by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin.
This recognition took place during the 2024/25 UCL draw ceremony on Thursday, 29 August.
Ronaldo’s remarkable achievements in the UEFA Champions League, including his record-breaking 140 goals in 183 appearances, have reshaped the history of the competition.
